Our Church Life is a short book, only 141 pages long, and deals with basic things regarding the church. What is a church, how does it function, what are the ordinances, what is membership, etc. The book is published by Challenge Press, which is strongly baptist in its teaching, featuring the works of S.E. Anderson and J.R. Graves among others. The doctrine of the church presented here is one that tries to follow the New Testament pattern as closely as possible, to the exclusion of other methods. Hence, church autonomy, and not subjection to the hierarchy of a denomination. Baptism is by immersion, and church membership is not open to those who haven't obeyed this Bible command. Membership means you participate, you are a vital part of the life of the church, and your gifts and abilities are necessary to the growth and edification of the rest of the body.
