This volume of theology was designed by Dr. Bancroft to be a compilation of the best writings on the whole area of theology. in the original preface originality was claimed only for compilation and arrangement rather than for contents. The resultant treatise was used by the original author with demonstrated success during many fruitful years of teaching until his death in 1944. Since that time the book has continued to be a valuable collateral textbook in Systematic Theology in the school of which he was the Dean as well as in many other Christian schools both in America and across the seas.
